About Us (Zen Treats)

Hello,

My name is Mariza and I'm the owner and founder of Zen Treats. I'm a wife, a mom to Kalki and to several fur babies. I love all things natural and enjoy nature.  Mother Earth gives us so much.

I have always liked to use products that are natural on me and for my family.  I grew up in a a house surrounded by nature until I started school. I can remember vividly how my grandmother and grandfather gathered herbs from our land to drink as teas or use to soothe a sore throat or an upset tummy. Those were wonderful memories.

Later in life when I was pregnant, I really started looking at the ingredient's lists on products. I was surprised to see how many ingredients that I couldn't pronounce or even knew what they were.

I also started reading other products advertising paraban and sulfate free products.  This peeked my curiosity regarding ingredients. Although I didn't initially know what that meant,  I knew that I didn't want those ingredients on me or my unborn baby.  That's when my desire to research and create natural products began.

I started out making lotions and body butters because I've always loved moisturizers.  I love the fact that that my products only have a few natural ingredients ,and that I know exactly what is in all my products.

I also started infusing the oils I was using to make products with wonderful plants like chamomile and calendula. Lots my products are natural and packed full of nutrients from the herbs I infuse in them.

All of my creations are made with a loved one in mind. For example, the Golden Coffee Soap was made with my grandmother Herlinda in mind because she loves coffee so much.  My kid's products are all made with my son in mind.  He absolutely loves bathing with bath bombs.
